MAGICAL BENEFITS OF MORINGA |

Moringa oleifera is a plant that is often called the drumstick tree, the miracle tree, the ben oil tree, or the horseradish tree. Moringa has been used for centuries due to its medicinal properties and health benefits. It also has antifungal, antiviral, antidepressant, and anti-inflammatory properties. Moringa is a plant that is native to areas of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. It is also grown in the tropics. The leaves, bark, flowers, fruit, seeds, and roots are used to make medicine. It is very famous in southern India, we can see it in the sambar and rasam the South Indians consume.

NUTRITIONAL VALUE –

It is low in calories, so by consuming 100gms of drumsticks one gets only about 26 cal. It is low in carbohydrates and barely has any fatty acids. It is high in fiber which is great for constipation as well as preventing cancer. Moringa oleifera has been given a lot of attention as a nutrient source, and has been studied more than many other plants. Much of the variability is likely due to differences in soil, climate, and plant age; and processing techniques such as drying clearly impact vitamin content. If Moringa oleifera is utilized as a part of a supplemental feeding program, samples should be analyzed periodically throughout the program to ensure that planned nutrient targets are being reached. It is high in protein and is enriched with amino acids. It contains Arginine, it is very useful to boost the immune system, improve athletic performance, shorten recovery time after surgery, and promote weight loss. L-arginine is also used for bodybuilding. There’s also some evidence that L-arginine may help with interstitial cystitis and preeclampsia. It is a rich source of Vitamin C, almost seven times more than other Vitamin C enriched foods, it also contains Beta Carotene, calcium, phosphorus and iron. It is very useful for people having anemia, arthritis and those using unnecessary vitamin supplements.
